Link Google Calendar Update Documentation

We have listened to our users and have added the ability to have multiple Google Calendars. You can have up to 5 different Google Calendars now. As of right now, your calendar will still show up on the front end with the current saved settings, but for the future, you will need to make some changes to the settings. So how does your current calendar still work. Pretty simple. The original calendar used the [lgc] shortcode which is saved in the database along with your Google Calendar info which will still display your current calendar. So everything is still working.

If you want to finish the update and be up to date or you are one of the users that would like to have multiple Google Calendars on your website then you will have to redo the settings. No worries it is not that hard.

Upon doing the update there will be an extra options page (so now there are 2). If you visit the main calendar options page your present settings will not be there as things have changed.

So let’s get things started:

Step 1: You need to visit the new ‘Number of Calendars’ option page and set the number of calendars you would like to have on your website using the drop-down list ( Red Arrow) and then click the blue Save Changes button.

If you need to change the number of calendars, there is a very SIMPLE way to do this. Before you change the number of calendars or do a Reset on the Calendars, go to the Link Google Calendar Options page where are of the calendars are set. Open up a simple text editor or just create a new email in your email program and just copy and paste each of the calendars like you did in the beginning from your Google Calendar. Change the number of calendars or hit the Reset calendars button, choose your new number of calendars from the Number of Calendars options page, go back to your Link Google Calendar Options page and copy and paste back each of your calendars. That way you do not have to go back and forth to each of your Google Calendars.

Notice the WARNINGS: If you change the number of calendars, it will reset everything.

Now go to the Main Link Google Calendar Options page and paste your calendars in the appropriate input boxes and click the blue Save Changes button.  Now you should see the screen below. Above each of the calendar input boxes is the shortcode to use on the front end for that particular calendar.

lgc_1  = first calendar

lgc_2 = second calendar

lgc_3 = third calendar

lgc_4 = fourth calendar

lgc_5 = fifth calendar
